Turner First Thursdays Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of the many art exhibition venues in Downtown Atlanta — commercial art galleries, museums, non-profit arts venues and artists studios are represented. Public information and a printable map of Turner First Thursdays Art Walk are available at www.atlantadowntown.com.

Featured participants in Turner First Thursdays host extended hours every first Thursday evening throughout 2007. These galleries are: the Atlanta-Fulton County Library Gallery at the Central Library, Arts for All Gallery at VSA arts of Georgia, (context) Furniture Gallery, Paige Harvey Art Studio, The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University, and the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University.

Each month brings a new experience for art lovers. This month’s highlights include:

  • The introduction of (context) to the Turner First Thursday Art Walk. (context) is a unique furniture purveyor specializing in gallery-quality pieces.

  • A chance to delight in animated frolic at the Museum of Design’s Design at Play, a collaboration with Cartoon Network.

  • An artist’s talk with exhibited photographers Carolyn Miller and Sue Ross at The Rialto Center for the Arts.

Visitors are encouraged to use MARTA. Galleries are easily accessible via the North-South line’s Peachtree Center station or the Five Points station hub.
