Kool Kidz Foundation announces flagship programs for 2008

Can Imagine Triathlon begins year with exciting competition!

The Kool Kidz Foundation creates inclusive environments where all children can learn and play together without limitations and without the stigma or prejudices of a developmental label.

Kool Kidz has an active scholarship program. The scholarships allow children to participate in Foundation programs and those of other community providers, and supports learning opportunities for parents. All programs and activities are made possible through a dedicated volunteer corps, donors, sponsors and strategic partners.

2008 Kool Kidz Programs:

Kool Kidz Can Imagine Triathlon
January 27, 2008
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Mountain View Aquatic Center

Can Imagine Triathlon combines the standard tri activities of running, swimming and biking for children of all abilities. Participants use a variety of equipment including walkers, bikes, big wheels, tricycles, flotation suits and belts to complete the race. All athletes receive a trophy and t-shirt and have their picture taken on the award stand.

Adaptive Swim Team Program
Spring session: Feb 7 - April 20
Spring meet: May 3rd, 1-3 pm
Fall session: August 14 - October 16
Fall meet: Oct 25, 1-3 pm

Kool Kidz Adaptive Swim Program is offered at multiple locations in the greater metro Atlanta area. The focus is on stroke development, improving stamina, team skill development, building self-confidence, following motor commands, and increasing fitness. The program is designed as a bridge to community-based swim teams and/or moving forward with pre-Paralympics competitions.

Kool Kidz Northside Day Camp - Tuesday, May 27 - Friday, May 30
Kool Kidz Southside Day Camp - Monday, July 7 - Thursday, July 10

Kool Kidz Camp facilitates interaction between campers with and without special needs. There is a focus on each camper's unique abilities while taking place in a traditional, outdoor camp environment. Summer day camps provide children with a multitude of fun and diverse activities. Day camps include a 1/2-day experience for 4 to 6 year olds and a full day experience for 7 to 16 year olds.

Camp Infinity Teen Overnight Camp - August 3 - 7 at Camp Twin Lakes in Partnership with FOCUS

Camp Infinity Overnight camp is exclusively for teens and young adults with special needs, ages 13-21 and lasts five days and four nights at the amazing Camp Twin Lakes facility east of Atlanta.

Kidz Day Out and Kidz Night Out
Respite allows children to participate in planned activities organized and supervised by therapists and volunteers. Dates and locations are being added to the calendar for 2008 in North and South Metro.
