ATLANTA (Feb. 18, 2008) – ATL Insider has partnered with Atlanta Daybook to provide Atlanta residents and visitors with up-to-date news about the destination.
"ATL Insider offers a great resource for locals to participate online," said Gregory Pierce, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) executive vice president. "Atlanta Daybook adds another dimension to ATL Insider and further connects visitors to the growing community now interacting on Atlanta.Net."
ATL Insider is the social networking area of
www.atlanta.net, the premier destination Web site for Atlanta that draws more than 450,000 unique visitors monthly. ACVB, in partnership with Brand Atlanta, recently renovated its Web presence with a fresh look, enhanced neighborhood content and new navigation as well as social networking tools for residents to share their insights and local knowledge of the city. ATL Insider is managed jointly by ACVB and Brand Atlanta.
The site, which can be accessed from the home page of
www.atlanta.net or directly at
http://atlinsider.atlanta.net, features photo-sharing, discussion forums, user reviews and blogs. Daybook’s newsfeed appears on the main page and highlights local news links and headlines. Since its launch in late 2007, ATL Insider already is attracting 50,000 site visits per month.
“Daybook complements our user-generated content with a local news source that is always current," said Andrew Wilson, Chief Finance Officer of Brand Atlanta. “The addition expands the appeal of ATL Insider to both locals and potential visitors to Atlanta."
“It’s all about local. ATL Insider is focused on providing local information and Atlanta Daybook is one of the city’s top online news communities. It’s a perfect fit between our organizations and we’re proud to be a part of it,” said Karla Sinclair, Atlanta Daybook's managing editor.
Since 1990, Atlanta Daybook and its predecessor, the What's Up Atlanta fax, have created a unique news community composed of the area's media, public relations professionals, non-profit organizations and local business and civic leaders. Atlanta Daybook is free to read and can be accessed through the opt-in weekday email edition, RSS newsfeed or by visiting
www.atlantadaybook.com.
