Home Caregiving Company AmeriCare Named Provider of InteleHealth Family Care™ System

Atlanta Franchise Set to Test New Interactive eeBee™ with Clients

(March 17, 2007, ATLANTA) – AmeriCare Alliance (AmeriCare), a leading non-medical home caregiving company, has signed an agreement with Atlanta-based InteleHealth to test the company’s new eeBee system, an interactive software service that enables families to manage and monitor wellness while maintaining a closer connection with caregivers and the person in need. The agreement, which introduces the new application over the next 90 days in AmeriCare’s Atlanta market, allows the option for a nationwide roll-out to all AmeriCare franchisees later in the year. AmeriCare is currently the only home-based care company in an agreement with InteleHealth.

“This partnership allows us to offer another layer of connectivity between caring family members and the person in need of care,” said Debbie Reis, president of AmeriCare. “At AmeriCare we know how vital family is to the health and well-being of those in need of care. We’re looking forward to testing eeBee’s unique design in our client’s homes. Together, it allows families, no matter the distance, to stay connected.”

InteleHealth’s innovative system – a first of its kind – uses a secure Internet connection and a simple interface to provide wellness information for the family caregivers and more frequent, enhanced communications with their elderly relatives. The eeBee service emphasizes delivering value to all participants in the caregiving network – the family, caregivers, and care recipients. A key advantage of the eeBee’s novel interface is that the recipient needs no computer experience to benefit from, and interact with, the family communication services and to provide family caregivers with important wellness information. The company was recently selected as one of the Top 40 Innovative Technology companies in Georgia by the Technology Association of Georgia ( TAG), the state's leading technology organization.

“Even in this simplest mode, eeBee provides value to both the caregiver and recipient,” said, Dan Seitam, chief executive officer of InteleHealth. “An individual who desires to remain independent benefits from more frequent communications with his or her family members, including grandchildren and other people in their caregiving circle. Family caregivers obtain the peace of mind from knowing that activity is normal, and that the quality of life of their loved ones is enhanced by the closer family connection enabled by the eeBee service.”

AmeriCare’s Atlanta franchise will host the initial 90-day test. After the successful completion of lead market testing and introduction, AmeriCare and InteleHealth plan to provide the service to franchisees nationwide. Currently, more than 34 million Americans personally care for a family member in need and with the population aging the number is expected to rapidly rise. AmeriCare aims to help those families in need by providing a choice of licensed, pre-screened, personally selected caregivers who work with them to create a unique customized care plan, free of limitations or restrictions. By offering flexibility in care options and an unparalleled dedication to quality, AmeriCare provides clients a quality, personally-selected caregiver that meets their individual needs, including their time and financial considerations. The InteleHealth program will provide another means of keeping families connected in the care process.
