City of East Point Offices to Occupy Kairos Development Corp.'s Jefferson Station |
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Kairos Development Corporation, developers of the historic Buggy Works complex in East Point, which includes Jefferson Station and South Central Station, is pleased to announce that the City of East Point will be relocating several of their offices to Jefferson Station. The City of East Point will occupy over 23,900 square feet of office space in Jefferson Station, providing ease of access for city staff and residents, as well as streamlined processes for city services.
The following city offices will be relocated to Jefferson Station: City Clerk, Human Resources, Finance, Government Operations, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Zoning, Economic Development and Purchasing. The City will begin moving in to Jefferson Station on August 1.
“We are excited, and we are looking forward to our move to Jefferson Station,” stated Crandall O. Jones, ICMA-CM, East Point’s Interim City Manager. “This relocation takes us closer to the Mission Statement recently developed by our City Council and will help consolidate more municipal services in one central downtown location “
The city signed a five-year lease with Jefferson Station, which is in the historic industrial district in East Point and on the National Register of Historic Places.
Kairos Development’s Jefferson Station at the Buggy Works is a four-story, historic factory building originally constructed in 1930 that still includes authentic factory details. Office space is available in the building which is offers pedestrian access, magnificently landscaped greenspace and an outdoor common area/plaza and is located near the East Point MARTA rail station and a variety of restaurants, banks, shopping, hotels and business services as well as the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
