McDonald's Chicken Biscuit and Sandwich Developed in Atlanta Launch Nationally
May 14 breakfast celebration, May 15 sampling day for McDonald's Southern Style Chicken
|
Atlanta (May 12, 2008) – The entire United States will soon enjoy a taste of the South, developed by McDonald’s with grassroots support from Atlanta owner/operators.
In May the McDonald’s Southern Style Chicken Biscuit and Sandwich will launch to restaurants nationwide, and the Greater Atlanta McDonald’s Operators Association – instrumental in bringing this product to a national audience - will celebrate the occasion with a Wednesday, May 14 breakfast event and a Thursday, May 15 all-day sampling in all Atlanta stores.
The McDonald’s Southern Style Chicken Biscuit Celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 14 at The Center for Puppetry Arts, 1404 Spring Street at 18th Street in Midtown Atlanta. From 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., morning commuters and guests will be able to stop by the Center to receive a free McDonald’s Southern Style Chicken Biscuit, while supplies last. The celebration will take place on a 50 by 50 foot checkered tablecloth big enough to be seen from the sky. The event will feature chicken-themed games to win Southern Style Chicken products and will give both Southern transplants (“Newbies”) and long-time Southern residents (“Natives”) a chance to taste Southern Style Chicken Biscuits with favorite condiments from a variety of regions.
The McDonald’s Southern Style Chicken Biscuit and Sandwich provide great-tasting options for chicken lovers and feature a juicy, perfectly seasoned, all-white meat chicken breast patty on either a new biscuit for breakfast or a steamed bun topped with two pickles for lunch and dinner.
On the House: McDonald’s Invites Customers to Try New Chicken Offerings on May 15 McDonald's is giving its customers a chance to try the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., or a Southern Style Chicken Sandwich beginning after breakfast hours until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, with the purchase of any medium or large beverage at participating restaurants (while supplies last).* McDonald’s expects to give away more than one million Southern Style Chicken Biscuits and five million Southern Style Chicken Sandwiches during the national sampling event. The sampling events will give customers the opportunity to try chicken for breakfast and decide what they prefer to eat first in the morning — chicken or eggs, similar to the age old question, “What came first – the chicken or the egg?”
WhatCameFirst.com Gives Consumers Say in Chicken vs. Egg Debate McDonald’s is inviting consumers nationwide to take part in the great chicken vs. egg debate by logging on to WhatCameFirst.com (Quienfueprimero.com). The new, interactive, bilingual Web site gives people across the country the chance to choose a side in the debate and challenge friends and family through a customizable, animated Chicken and Egg Dance-Off. Consumers can also view comedic “man-on-the-street” video interviews from people attempting to answer the question of ‘What came first, the chicken or the egg?’
A Legacy of Leadership in Food Quality and Menu Innovation McDonald’s provides its customers with convenient restaurant locations, many with drive-thru service and extended breakfast hours, and great-tasting menu options, including the new Southern Style Chicken Biscuit and Sandwich. McDonald's new Southern Style Chicken Biscuit is the first-ever chicken breakfast menu offering and continues the company’s legacy of breakfast and menu innovation, following the introductions of Premium Roast Coffee and the McSkilletTM Burrito.
