ATLANTA (August 21, 2008) – Camp To Belong Georgia (CTB-GA) is proud to announce its 2nd Annual Swing for Siblings Charity Golf Tournament, which will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Golf Club at Bradshaw Farms. The proceeds from the event will help the organization reunite brothers and sisters placed in separate foster, adoptive or kinship homes through summer camp programs and year-round events.
Of the nearly 600,000 children living in foster care in the United States, 75 percent are separated from at least one sibling. That estimation accounts for approximately 11,000 children in Georgia. Camp to Belong Georgia seeks to reestablish sibling connections among these separated brothers and sisters through events that encourage emotional empowerment, social maturation and positive outlook. Camp To Belong’s signature event is a week-long summer camp during which brothers and sisters come back together to enjoy traditional camp activities, such as canoeing and horseback riding, and bond over special relationship-building activities.
Golfers can join Camp To Belong Georgia for a day of fun, food and fundraising at the Golf Club at Bradshaw Farms, one of Georgia’s Top 10 Public Courses, on Friday, September 26th. Set against the backdrop of the North Georgia Mountains, this unique 27-hole layout allows players at every level to enjoy a challenging round of golf. Registration fees ($125/individual or $450/foursome before August 30th; $135/individual or $500/foursome after August 30th) include breakfast and lunch, prizes awarded for such competitions as longest drive and hole in one, and goody bags for each player. To register, please call 678-595-6062 or visit

“This fundraiser determines in large part the number of siblings we are able to reunite each year as well as which events Camp To Belong is able to coordinate for them,” said Founder, Jennifer Thomas. “Tournament sponsors and players are giving Georgia’s children in care time and memories with their siblings that they otherwise would not have.”
Sponsorships are still available for the Swing for Siblings event. Sponsorship levels, ranging from $250 to $5,000, provide significant exposure for the partner’s organization among active, influential community members from across the Metro Atlanta area.
