These days you may wonder if you even have a shoestring left in your PR budget! Fortunately, sound and creative advice on how to leverage your PR in this economic climate is on the way.

Join us on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm for a FREE brown-bag lunch & learn featuring a panel discussion by local experts on how to make the most of your PR efforts with the least amount of budget. The lunch & learn is hosted by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (www.gcn.org) and presented by Atlanta Daybook (www.atlantadaybook).

The lunch & learn panelists include:

  • Natasha Daniels, Independent PR Consultant and former PR Manager for Atlanta Community Food Bank

  • Tamika L. Morrison, CEO & President of The WriteStylz PR Firm specializing in social media networking and traditional media relations

  • Terri Thornton, owner of Thornton Communications and one of the few public relations professionals with a background in both broadcast news and the print media

The panel discussion will be moderated by Karla Sinclair, Publisher of Atlanta Daybook.

An extended Q&A session with the panelists and the moderator will follow the panel discussion so your specific questions can be addressed.

About the Panelists and Moderator

Natasha Daniels
is a veteran publicist with more than 15 years of experience directing public relations and communications for some of the country's most prestigious and highly recognized nonprofits, universities and government agencies. The former Public Relations Manager for the Atlanta Community Food Bank recently launched her career as an independent consultant bringing experience from several past PR Posts including stints with The City of East Point, Spelman College, Meharry Medical College, Tennessee State University and the Tennessee Department of Human Services.


Tamika Morrison is the CEO and President of The Write Stylz Public Relations Firm, which is headquartered in Atlanta GA with a national clientele. As a boutique PR firm with over a decade of communications and media experience, their areas of specialty are social media networking and traditional media relations for niche businesses, entrepreneurs, speakers and authors as well as those in sports and entertainment.


Terri Thornton is the Owner of Thornton Communications (www.territhornton.com), an award winning media relations firm representing some of Atlanta's top institutions. A former broadcast journalist, she founded her business in 1998. She has placed clients' stories in newspapers, magazines, TV stations and web sites nationwide. Her clients have been profiled in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today as well as regional and national trade publications, and interviewed on CNN, CNNfn, MSNBC and CNBC. She has also produced several marketing videos and video news releases, which gained coverage on local and international TV.



Karla Sinclair, Publisher, Daybook, Inc., manages Atlanta Daybook, Dallas/Fort Worth Daybook and Nashville Daybook. Each year through Daybook, she works with hundreds of nonprofit organizations to help them reach the media and increase their event attendance, donations, sponsorships and volunteers. With a background in technology, she is uniquely positioned to understand the intersection of PR with both online and traditional marketing.
