Atlanta SCORE Chapter embraces the National “Accelerate Your Business Success Program” to help Small Businesses adjust and grow in volatile economy

SBA Applauds Stimulus Bill, Planning Underway For Broadest, Quickest Small Business Impact

 

In January of this year SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" announces the "Accelerate Your Success Program," a three-month campaign to help small business owners focus on a plan for success, manage and acquire cash, and develop new business opportunities. The Atlanta Chapter works in the same office with the SBA District Team. Recently the U.S. Small Business Administration Georgia District team. had a News Release:

SBA Applauds Stimulus Bill, Planning Underway For Broadest, Quickest Small Business Impact

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act contains a package of loan fee reductions, higher guarantees, new SBA programs, secondary market incentives, and enhancements to current SBA programs that will help unlock credit markets and begin economic recovery for the nation’s small business sector.

“The tax incentives and credit stimulus elements of the Recovery Act will truly help small business owners affected by the credit crunch, and will provide financing opportunities to help them create new jobs in their communities,” said Acting SBA Administrator Darryl K. Hairston.

Many small business owners have been come to The Atlanta Chapter of SCORE for help with cutting costs, getting capital, streamlining operations and finding new customers. SCORE offices across the country are staffed with volunteer experts who have experience in finance, accounting, management, marketing and strategic planning. Atlanta SCORE and the District SBA offices join in an on going effort to assist the e-200 graduate group of 14 inner-city firms in a follow-up program as part this free management training initiative. Our program, set for March 18, will include Focus Groups to determine what type of topics businesses need in today’s fast changing market place.

The second part of the program will be a speed counseling session to ascertain the individual company’s needs and assign a mentor to help with solving the problems. The local IKEA Store has opened its resources to house this program. Thank you IKEA.
