Speed Coaching is For Fast Businesses in the Slow Economy

April 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m at Cobb County Chamber of Commerce

You may fall in lust, but falling in love is less likely at speed-dating events. Likewise, one-on-one speed coaching will introduce Atlanta’s small-business owners to the secrets of jump-starting a new or accelerating an existing business. Furthermore, continued mentoring will be offered to keep you on the road to success. It is all free but space is very limited.

SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” and American Express OPEN are bringing back the event called, “Small Business Speed Coaching Test Drive.” It is fast, effective and was oversubscribed last year. It will be held at the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, 240 Interstate North Parkway, April 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“The speed-coaching event was so successful last year that we decided to do it again,” Jeff Mesquita, SCORE Atlanta’s chairman says. “Fifteen of our most competent business counselors will meet with individual entrepreneurs for 30-minutes. Free, longer-term mentoring will also be offered.”

In addition to the private coaching sessions, attendees will choose from three workshops and network with other small-business owners to exchange ideas. The workshops include topics on bookkeeping with QuickBooks, online marketing strategies and learning coping skills and thriving in today’s economy.

“We have purposely limited the attendance again this year to make the speed coaching more effective,” Mesquita says. “So entrepreneurs that want to attend should sign up quickly.”
