Ignatius House (
www.ignatiushouse.org), a retreat center located on 20 peaceful acres along the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs, will offer a Women’s Weekend Retreat June 19-21. A weekend retreat at Ignatius House invites women to take a break from the material world and become closer to their faith by surrounding themselves with and embracing God’s beautiful creation.
“This retreat will focus on the message of hope found in St. Paul’s letters,” said Fr. Albert Louapre, SJ, of Ignatius House. “The timelessness of his writings, especially in today’s challenging climate, offers women inspiration to enter into a more personal conversation with God in the midst of their everyday lives.” During this retreat women will reflect on these letters and their own journeys in today’s world. The timing of this retreat coincides with the end of the jubilee year (June 29) dedicated to St. Paul.
The silent weekend retreat is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola and is open to women of all faiths and backgrounds. The retreat will be directed by conducted by Cenacle Sisters Barbara Young and Susan Arcaro.
Reservations for the weekend retreat are taken on a first come first serve basis and space is limited. Lodging and meals are included with the retreat. Retreats begin on the first day at 6:00 PM and end on the last day after lunch. Reservations can be made by phone (404) 255-0503, by e-mail ihsecretary@bellsouth.net or online at www.ignatiushouse.org. A $50 deposit is required with a reservation.
Retreat Center Ignatius House
Ignatius House is the place to unleash yourself from the digital world and experience the spiritual one. The retreat center is owned and operated by the Jesuit Fathers and Brothers of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus. The retreat center is named after Saint Ignatius of Loyola, a sixteenth-century nobleman and the founder of the Jesuit Order. The Spiritual Exercises that are practiced here are based on the notes that St. Ignatius himself made as he underwent his own spiritual conversion at Manresa, Spain. Ignatius House is located on 20 peaceful acres along the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs, Georgia, a northwest suburb of Atlanta.
