Grammy Award-Winning R&B star Monica, model Claudia Jordan from Deal or No Deal, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes, and nearly 40 current NFL and NBA players will join New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant as he hosts the 4^th Annual Bayou Bling Celebrity Charity Weekend in Atlanta from June 19-21, 2009. Each year, the Charles Grant SACK Success Foundation hosts the signature fundraiser weekend to provide resources for at-risk, inner city youth in New Orleans, Atlanta and Grant’s hometown of Colquitt, GA. Organizations benefiting from this year’s efforts are KIPP Metro Atlanta charter schools, St. Francis Table, and the City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation Department.

“This year we have strong community service focus. I remain fully committed to making a difference in the lives of youth,” said Grant. “With the recession, there are so many people in need. My foundation is dedicated to impacting the lives of more and more kids through our community outreach programs.”

Bayou Bling Weekend organized by EDGE 3M Sports & Entertainment, includes a free football clinic for youth at Adamsville Recreation Center, Kids Night Out at ESPN Zone and a community outreach initiative focused on Atlanta’s homeless population. VIP affairs include The Caring Edge Awards, The Rolls-Royce “Player’s Ball” and the celebrity pool party at the W Hotel. Proceeds from the weekend activities will go towards various SACK Success Foundation projects including, the Grant Go-Getters youth recognition program, Grant’s Gridiron Football Camps and Charles Grant Kids Day Out. This year the foundation also plans to give away a home and build a playground in New Orleans.
