Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to increase capacity to serve our community, is pleased to announce that Cindy Tierney, SVP and CIO, Beazer Homes USA, Inc., has been named as Vice Chair of the TechBridge Board of Directors.
Ms. Tierney joined the TechBridge board in 2007. She also served as the 2009 Co-Chair of TechBridge’s Digital Ball® and will continue in that role alongside Dave Barnes, SVP and CIO, UPS for the 10th anniversary of the signature fundraiser in 2010.
Appointed to the position of Vice Chair by board vote, Ms. Tierney will succeed current board chair, Wain Kellum, CEO, Omnilink, at the end of his term. “Cindy’s background, leadership abilities and passion for TechBridge’s mission makes her the ideal person to help us continue to evolve the organization and increase its impact in the community,” said Kellum.
Serving as Co-Chair of the Board’s Volunteer Committee for 2008-2009, Ms. Tierney helped ignite recent growth of TechBridge’s volunteer program and oversee the launch of its new TechVolunteer website designed to communicate with and gather information about technology skills from potential volunteers. This resource provides TechBridge with a current database of available technology talent to match with its clients’ needs.
“I’ve seen firsthand how TechBridge’s technology and services can help nonprofits improve efficiencies and increase their ability to change lives,” said Tierney. “I’m thrilled to be using my professional experience to develop processes that enable other IT professionals to give back to our community in such a meaningful way.”
