social-print
Bill Nigut, Southeast Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League, will be the keynote speaker at the weekly breakfast meeting and networking event of the Buckhead Business Association (BBA) on Thursday, July 30, 2009. The Anti-Defamation League is an international organization dedicated to fighting the bigotry toward the Jewish people and to securing justice and fair treatment for all.

"Because of his varied career, long-time Atlantan Bill Nigut will be able to discuss many vital issues that are of interest to our membership -- from a number of different perspectives," notes Elizabeth Gill, president of the BBA. "Bill's background is a unique mixture of arts, journalism and politics - and his personal commitment to our city is legendary."

Nigut joined ADL in January 2007, after spending three years as President and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Arts and Culture Coalition (MAACC), a unique public/private partnership dedicated to making the Atlanta region a premier center for the arts.

From 1983 to 2003, Bill served as the Political Reporter for WSB-TV. During that time he covered five presidential campaigns, traveling the country from Iowa and New Hampshire to other primary states; reported from every national political convention from 1984 to 2000; frequently reported news from the White House and Capitol Hill. Bill also covered 19 sessions of the Georgia General Assembly, as well as gubernatorial, congressional and statewide election campaigns.

In 1992, Bill became the first local political reporter in the nation to create and host town hall meetings that brought then-Governor Bill Clinton and President George H. W. Bush to Atlanta for one-hour broadcasts which Bill hosted. Prior to those telecasts, no major party candidate for president had ever participated in local television forums.

The weekly BBA breakfast meetings, which are held at the City Club of Buckhead, take place every Thursday from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. The City Club of Buckhead is located at 3343 Peachtree Road, Suite 1850. Tickets are $10 for BBA members and $20 for visitors and guests. For more information, please check the BBA website at www.buckheadbusiness.org.
