Dawson County Hosts Pheasant Shoot to Benefit Senior Center
Inaugural event to aid in design and installation of much needed elevator
Dawson County, GA -- Make plans now to attend the first Dawson County European Pheasant Shoot. Event will be held on December 12, 2009 at the Whitmire property located at Goldmine Road and Nugget Ridge Road. Cost of participation is $275.00 and includes breakfast and BBQ lunch.
250 pheasants will be released two at a time and any shooter who has a shot may shoot. There will be 20 shooting stations with each station occupied by two shooters.
Arrive at the field at 9:00am for breakfast. The shoot begins at 10:00. Complementary bird cleaning is provided (breast only) and all birds harvested will be divided equally among all shooters.
"Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Dawson County Senior Center and aid in the design and installation of a much-needed elevator at the center," said Dawson County Government and Community Affairs Representative Cathy Brooks, one of the event organizers.
"There is presently no elevator in the center forcing many of our seniors to have to walk around the outside of the building to get from one floor to another. This severely limits their activities," Brooks said.
"We are proud to present this inaugural event and look forward to continuing this new tradition for years to come," said Brooks.
Corporate and shooting station sponsorships are still available.
Event is limited to 40 shooters and tickets may be purchased now at Dawson County Board of Commissioners, Attn: Danielle Yarbrough, 78 Howard Avenue East, Suite 100, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
