Southeast’s Premier Social Media and Social Networking Conference Jan. 29 - 30

SoCon10, the Southeast’s premier social media and social networking conference is pleased to announce Atlanta Daybook as a gold sponsor. Now in its fourth year, SoCon10 is held January 29 – 30, 2010 at Kennesaw State University. Just as with SoCon07, SoCon08 and SoCon09, this year’s SoCon10, is built on the premise that collectively we know more than we do individually. Last year at SoCon09, more than 300 attendees joined the conversation on how social media affects us all and is changing our personal and professional lives.

According to Leonard Witt, Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Journalism at KSU, “In the first three years, SoCon introduced social media, user-generated content, blogs, podcasts, video logs, social networking, wikis, Twitter… but nothing stands still. Professionally and personally, you have to stay ahead of the learning curve. That’s why we started SoCon. To find out what is the latest; who is doing what; who has great innovative ideas. And to network and learn — and maybe even partner with — independent content producers, entrepreneurs, new media pros, academics and people from across the spectrum of marketing, public relations, legal, human resources, and executive ranks.

“Video is one of the most important tools in social media today. Our society is becoming increasingly visual; you have to have video if you want to stay current and if you want to pass along viral messages. Our SoCon attendees know this and have said they want to learn more. So, we are pleased to be able to offer a Video Boot Camp this year at SoCon taught by a Kennesaw State professional using the Department of Communication’s state of the art media lab.”
