Families looking for a fun and affordable entertainment option this weekend should head to the big top garden tent at The Park Tavern, 500 10
th St. at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. There will be a special concert featuring Sirius XM Radio kids artists
The Baby Grands and
Secret Agent 23 Skidoo. The "Grand Day Out" festivities will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 15
th. There will be carnival games and giveaways in addition to the lively music.
"We are looking forward to collaborating with 23 Skidoo and giving a chance for families to hang out on a Sunday afternoon and listen to some cool music with a broad appeal," said Marc Castelo, songwriter for The Baby Grands. "A portion of the proceeds will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, so we are extremely pleased about being able to give back to one of the best children’s hospitals in the country."
The Baby Grands are probably best characterized mixing the laid-back, low-key tunes of well-known artists such as Jack Johnson, They Might Be Giants, The Dave Matthews Band and Barenaked Ladies. Their self-titled album is played regularly on Sirius-XM. Earlier this year the band was recognized by the National Parenting Publications Awards Children’s Products competition for providing children with high quality entertainment and learning.
Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, a group in the hip hop genre, hails from Asheville, North Carolina. The band released a new version of its popular "Easy" CD this summer. The disk includes 13 track originals, six reworked beats and three exclusive bonus songs. Two songs: "I like fruit" and "Luck" hit #1 on the XM Radio children’s charts. The band is signed with the L.A.-based Happiness Records label.
