Windsong Properties Celebrates Sixth Anniversary

Active Adult builder marks milestone with Toys for Tots donation

Award-winning active adult courtyard home builder, Windsong Properties celebrated six outstanding years in business on Wednesday, Nov. 18 with an invitation-only anniversary luncheon at its Somerset community in Woodstock. Attendees were asked to bring toys to donate to the Atlanta Toys for Tots holiday campaign.

“All of our communities and homes have been well received by active adult buyers,” said Windsong Properties Managing Partner Steve Romeyn. “We have had an extremely positive year in sales despite a down economy. One of the central keys to our success is that we have always exclusively built for the active adult and have been able to adjust home design and price in this economy and the result has been great sales.”

Windsong Properties builds EarthCraft and EasyLiving® certified, single story detached home communities specifically designed for those ages 55 and up. The Villas at Blackberry Run, in Seven Hills, located in Dallas, Ga., is a 78-home retirement community with homes priced from $225,000. Windsong at Seven Hills, the builder’s newest community, located just seconds from the Villas start at $180,000. Somerset which features 58 ranch courtyard homes in Woodstock, Ga., is priced from $280,000.

Atlanta Toys for Tots, a national not-for-profit program that is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, fulfills the Christmas dreams of Atlanta's neediest children through toy collections and donation. Accepting the toys at the anniversary party was a Marine in full dress blues. For more information on how to donate, visit www.atlantatoysfortots.com.

“We decided to make this celebration more than just a luncheon by coming together as a community to make the holiday season a bit brighter for needy children in Atlanta,” said Romeyn. “We had a great number of people turn out and the best thing was the positive feeling in the air. It was truly a good way to celebrate. Despite this being a tough year for everyone, we had more gifts donated this year than any in the past.”

Locally owned, Windsong Properties was founded by Mark Carruth and Managing Partner Steve Romeyn. The two bring more than 50 years of local building experience to Windsong Properties, ‘Where Life’s a Breeze.’ As empty nesters themselves, Mark and Steve have first hand knowledge of the desires of active adults and are passionate about creating communities and homes for empty nesters. Every decision made at Windsong Properties from the design of the community and its amenities, to the floorplans, and the unique customer service approach is targeted to the 50-plus, empty nester group. Windsong Properties was awarded four OBIE awards in 2008 from the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and earned the highest honor from the Certified Professional Home Builders association when it was awarded the Customer Satisfaction Award for 2007. Windsong Properties invites you to visit one of its communities to see for yourself just how easy living the Windsong Lifestyle can be.
