Kaffie McCullough of AFNAP to Speak at BBA Breakfast on December 3
Kaffie McCullough, Campaign Director of the Juvenile Justice Fund's A Future. Not A Past - commonly known as AFNAP - will speak at the weekly breakfast meeting and networking event of the Buckhead Business Association (BBA) on Thursday, December 3 instead of Ian Mitroff, as was previously announced. "Kaffie McCullough has spent her career helping better the lives of youth," notes Elizabeth Gill, president of the BBA. "For AFNAP, she oversees the statewide campaign to stop the prostitution of children in Georgia."
Before joining the campaign, McCullough served as project director for a federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grant that supported the establishment of a model program for the treatment of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) victims in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta. McCullough is also the founder and past executive director of GOAL, a nonprofit organization that provides programming for middle school girls. Earlier in her career, McCullough was a psychotherapist in private practice for 10 years, as well as a high school teacher and business owner.
Dedicated to the Atlanta community, McCullough has served on boards for various nonprofits. In 2006, McCullough was honored for her commitment to bettering the lives of girls and women with the Wells College Distinguished Alumnae Award. In 2009, McCullough received Mercer University's Sex Trafficking Opposition Project (STOP) Conference's Advocacy Awards.
The weekly BBA breakfast meetings, which are held at the City Club of Buckhead, take place every Thursday from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. The City Club of Buckhead is located at 3343 Peachtree Road, Suite 1850. About A Future. Not A Past.
Spearheaded by the nonprofit Juvenile Justice Fund, A Future. Not A Past. is a statewide campaign launched in 2007 to stop the prostitution of children in Georgia by building a barrier between children and those to seek to harm them through commercial sexual exploitation. The campaign is addressing the issue through a four-tiered strategy of research, prevention, intervention, and education. AFNAP's mission is to protect and inspire hope in these girls - the true victims of this illicit practice as well as to disable demand and prosecute the pimps and johns who make the prostitution of children a gruesome reality in Georgia.
