Breast Cancer Event: Young Survival Coalition and Amoena Sponsor Informative Program Dec. 7

Post-Cancer Breast Reconstruction Options Outlined at Event

WHAT:
Breast cancer survivors, friends, family and health professionals will hear detailed information from renowned Atlanta plastic surgeon, Phillip Beegle, M.D., about options for breast reconstruction before and after treatment. This event focuses on breast cancer survivors under 40 years old, but with the proposed new age recommendations for mammograms by the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force, this event could expose important options of which all women, not just young survivors, should be aware.

WHY:
Reconstruction surgery is not always an option immediately after breast cancer surgery or for some women, even in the months and years following treatment. This seminar will focus on what women need to know short- and long-term for breast reconstruction and other options including breast implants and flaps; breast prostheses, shapers and forms; and proper fitting bras and post surgical garments.

WHEN:
Monday, December 7
6:30 p.m. dinner; 7 p.m. presentation/Q&A

WHERE:
Courtyard by Marriott
5601 Peachtree Dunwoody Road
Atlanta, GA 30342

WHO:
Phillip Beegle, M.D., presenter, specializes in facial aesthetic surgery and both aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. In 1993, Dr. Beegle was elected to the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, in recognition of his contributions to microsurgery techniques for breast reconstruction. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has hospital affiliations with St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta, Newnan Hospital, Fayette Community Hospital, Northside Hospital and Northside Sandy Springs Outpatient Surgery Center.
