United Brothers of America & The LEAGUE Honor Morehouse Mentors Dec.12

The LEAGUE Georgia proudly announces the award of its Learning to Give- Service Learning Leadership Award to Louis Deas for excellence in leadership and preparation to deliver service learning instruction to students at Brown Middle School in Atlanta. Mr. Deas is one of several Morehouse College students that United Brothers of America (UBA) is training to mentor local elementary, middle and high school students in service learning. The LEAGUE's highly acclaimed Learning to Give curriculum provides the platform for UBA's service learning program. The award will be made at a recognition event by The United Brothers of America (UBA) on December 12th from 4:00-7:00 at the Georgia Tech Conference Center and the community is invited to attend. United Brothers of America (UBA) is a non-profit advocacy group for the advancement of young black males. The vision is to change 20 issues in 20 years through a national service learning network of college students that deliver positive youth development training in local communities to build developmental assets to assimilate young black males into society, while developing valued contributors to the growth of a better America. The LEAGUE Georgia, a local nonprofit affiliate of The LEAGUE Worldwide, was established locally in 2009 with generous funding from New York Life.
