TechBridge and Partners to Coordinate Day of Service During NTEN’s National Technology Conference

Atlanta – December 21, 2009 -- Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to better serve our community, is partnering with ifPeople and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits to host a Day of Service on April 8, 2010. The Day of Service is sponsored by the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) as part of their National Technology Conference slated for April 8 – 10, 2010. The annual NTEN conference brings together an outstanding group of nonprofit leaders, IT innovators, communications gurus, fundraising superstars and other nonprofit staff to learn about the latest trends, practical how-to’s, and IT solutions to optimize the use of technology in furthering nonprofits’ missions and creating more social good in the world.

The NTEN Day of Service is an opportunity for local nonprofits to receive free technology advice. Volunteer technology consultants who are attending the conference and other IT professionals from the Atlanta area will be matched with selected nonprofits to give advice on important issues including online fundraising, web design and maintenance, and using social networks to reach more people.

As Day of Service hosts, TechBridge, ifPeople and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits are encouraging local nonprofits to sign up for the free technology help available on the NTEN volunteer day. The partners will coordinate logistics, assist with recruiting local volunteers and provide other organizational support for the Day of Service.

“Atlanta is fortunate to have such an enthusiastic and generous technology community,” said Kathleen Kurre, CEO of TechBridge. “And we are pleased to provide the bridge between these technology skills and the needs of local nonprofits through this unique NTEN opportunity and our own growing corporate volunteer program.”

Nonprofit organizations selected to participate in the Day of Service will receive a free, two-hour consultation with a volunteer consultant, a free annual membership to NTEN, and a significantly reduced rate for the three-day conference.

Space is limited. Interested nonprofits should complete the online survey at http://tinyurl.com/techbridgenten. If selected, nonprofits will be contacted before January 14, 2010 with more information.
