Join Womenetics for a girls’ night out on February 17th at 6:30pm to attend “Brownie Points” at Theatrical Outfit. Enjoy a reception before the play to interact with other business professionals. Then, be prepared to be challenged and uplifted as the play explores issues of gender, race, ethnicity and, ultimately, motherhood in the 21st century.
Written by Janece Schaffer and directed by Jasmine Guy, “Brownie Points” is the story about a group of mothers and daughters who set out on a camping trip in the north-Georgia mountains, only to find themselves challenged by their own ethnic and sociological prejudices. At the mercy of a wild storm that leaves them stranded in the wilderness, these women encounter confrontation and ultimately, self-discovery and realization.
Following the performance, a moderator will lead an in-depth discussion on the play’s central themes while answering questions and addressing the fundamental issues of ethnic and gender relations. This program promises to be a dynamic evening of friendship and dialogue. To learn more and to register, visit www.womenetics.com.
