The Atlanta Press Club will also select an overall Journalist of the Year from the nominations to receive a $1000 prize in addition to the Award of Excellence for his or her specific journalism category.
Anyone is eligible to nominate a journalist for an Award of Excellence and journalists are able to self-nominate. All journalists who either work for Atlanta news outlets or who are based in Atlanta are eligible for an Award of Excellence for their appropriate category and for the Journalist of the Year award. (Please note members of the Atlanta Press Club board of directors are not eligible to win.)
The Journalist of the Year selection committee will choose the finalists in each category. Journalists on the Atlanta Press Club's board of directors and members of the selection committee will vote on the winners.
