The Finance Officer's Role in Doing More With Less
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) will host its 104th Annual Conference, "The Finance Officer's Role in Doing More With Less," on June 6 - 9, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Registration for the event is open on GFOA's Web site (www.gfoa.org). The conference is expected to bring together more than 4,000 public finance professionals through workshops, panel discussions, lectures, and discussion groups focusing on recent updates and best practices in government finance. Sessions will examine a wide variety of topics, such as accounting, auditing, and financial reporting; budgeting and financial planning; debt management; economic development; pension and benefit administration; technology and digital government; and treasury management and investing.
GFOA's annual conference strives to provide public finance professionals with the tools, strategies, and answers needed to improve job performance. The conference attracts attendees who see innovation as the key to high performance government. Conference participants bring a willingness to share ideas and experiences as well as a readiness to network to take home the best ideas from their peer finance officers.
