Fashion Forward Craft Show Turns 21

American Craft Council Show Celebrates its 21st year in Atlanta with nearly 70 artists displaying fashion wearables

social-print
Atlanta, GA (March 10, 2010) - Innovative, unique and cutting-edge is the focus at this year's 21st annual American Craft Council Show in Atlanta. With nearly 70 artists alone featuring their original, handmade wearable designs - including artist-to-the-celebrities Paul Pearman, whose exclusive, intricate mosaic belts have hugged the hips of both Cameron Diaz and Keith Richards - fashion and jewelry enthusiasts will not want to miss the only show of its kind in the southeast.

Held March 12-14 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, the American Craft Council Show in Atlanta features artists whose work illustrates the visionary techniques and materials of the handmade craft movement. Guests can anticipate finding original, handcrafted work from over 240 fine craft artists, with many items under $100 and thousands of other pieces priced accordingly. From custom bags and purses to intricate jewelry, hand-painted silk to innovative fiber work, the Show is the preeminent destination to find fashion-forward and fine craft pieces that will enhance and distinguish any wardrobe or home.

Several artists who specialize in fashion wearables and accessories include:

  • Bridgette Raitz,(Marietta, GA) whose eye-catching sweaters are a perfect mélange of retro-chic and modern cool;
  • Laura Martin, (Atlanta, GA) who recycles old ties into eccentric bags and totes that, when sold, benefit Atlanta's homeless.
  • Christine Terrell,(Austin, TX) who 'upcycles' undecorated tin cans into colorful, funky rings, necklaces and earrings;
  • Wendy Allen, (Monroe, NC) whose quirky felt hats, scarves, and "bits and bobs" accentuate any style;
  • Iris Guy,(Bellevue, WA) whose elegant, minimalist jewelry accentuates the natural beauty of sparsely designed gold and silver pieces; and
  • Joyce Stewart, (Islip, NY) who creates distinctive jackets, skirts, tops and dresses.
