Atlanta, GA (March 10, 2010) - Looking for a fun, low-key, low-cost activity for the whole family this weekend?

Look no further than the Cobb Galleria, where kids 12 and under get in free, parking is free and there is a free kids' art-making activity. Also, this year's 21st annual American Craft Council Show in Atlanta will feature a number of artists whose work is focused on kids of all ages. From highly collectible, handcrafted toys to unique nursery sculptures and wall art, the art of over a dozen participating Craft Show artists will be on display this weekend.

There will also be a kid's art workshop Saturday from 1 - 4 PM at the Show's Artist Demonstration area sponsored by Callanwolde Fine Arts Center that will allow kids a hands-on opportunity to make their own craft pieces.

Several artists who specialize in family-friendly artwork include:
  • Albert Hall, (Lawrenceville, GA) who creates whimsical and fascinating furniture predominantly from wood perfect for children's bedrooms;
  • Michele Smith, (Indianapolis, IN) whose funky, colorful wall pieces and decorations are sure to bring a smile to a child's face;
  • Hadley Kelley, (Tybee Island, GA) who molds cute clay characters called "Sticks in the Mud" for the home and garden;
  • Steve Baldwin, (Omaha, NE) who handcrafts wonderfully nostalgic steam trains and cars from the finest woods and materials;
  • and Katie Aldrich, (Atlanta, GA) who makes hip and edgy pillows perfect for decorating a college dorm or apartment.

Show information:
Now in its 21st year, the Atlanta Show will feature the works of more than 240 established artists from across the country.
