Many Handmade Under $100 Art Items For Sale at American Craft Council Show This Weekend
Beat the rainy day blues with a visit to the colorful Craft Show, the only one of its kind in the South
240 of the nation's fine craft artisans are assembled at the Cobb Galleria with their unique, handmade wearable and functional art - from jewelry to furniture to lawn and garden ornaments to wall and home decor of all kinds, this is the place to beat the rain this weekend in Atlanta. - 240 fine craft artisans from across the nation in a juried, spacious show at the Cobb Galleria Friday through Sunday
- $5 after 5 PM admission Friday night only from 5 to 8 PM. Usual admission is $13 per person, kids 12 & under free.
- Handmade under $100 items for sale by many of the artists in response to the economy and just because some of them always have a mix of price ranges for their art
- Nearly half of the artists fit the GreenCraft art category, which is growing as more and more artists juried into this Show are using recycled materials and sustainable processes to make their artwork
- 31 Atlanta and Georgia artists are accepted into the Show this year - this is a record in its 21 year history
- More artists this year, not less - which may be surprising given the economy
- Great stories among the artists you'll meet, like Laura Martin, who started a little sewing business last year using refugee women to sew functional items she designs made from recycled ties and less than 9 months later, she's admitted to one of the most prestigious art shows in the nation!
- AltCraft added as a category in Atlanta this year to expose up and coming DIY crafters to the Craft Council's devoted fans and art patrons
- Callanwolde helping us make this a kid-friendly event with kids' art making on Saturday, March 13
