Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 7 p.m.
ATLANTA, March 8, 2010 - Millions of Americans are finding themselves caught in the middle of what's called the "sandwich generation", raising their children while caring for their aging parents.Channel 2's Jovita Moore and Justin Farmer take you inside the lives of three local families who face this challenge right now. The primetime special showcases each family's struggles with the issues related to aging while being attentive parents.
Farmer and Moore interview experts who reveal important services, solutions and resources available for the elderly and their families.
Channel 2's Consumer Advisor Clark Howard breaks down what every family needs to discuss with elderly parents. He walks you through the questions to ask about medical, financial and legal issues.
"It's a subject that affects a growing number of people," said Art Rogers, director of programming for Channel 2. "Sadly, one of the mothers chronicled in our show passed away just a few days ago. Our thoughts and prayers go out to that family".
The program supports the station's ongoing "Family 2 Family" project.
