Atlanta Parent Magazine Sets Standards with Gold in General Excellence
Atlanta, GA- Weeks after the Winter Olympics, Atlanta Parent Magazine is proud to claim the "Gold" for General Excellence for local parenting magazines. Last weekend at the Parenting Publications of America (PPA) annual convention, Atlanta Parent Magazine took home a total of nine design and editorial awards, setting the standard for free, parenting publications nationwide. PPA's annual Editorial and Design Awards competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by publishers, editors, writers and designers at member publications. PPA gave out just over 400 Editorial and Design Competition awards to 64 parenting newspapers and magazines at a banquet on March 6, 2010, at the PPA convention in Charlotte, NC.
Liz White is the founder and publisher of Atlanta Parent Magazine. "It has always been my passion to help metro Atlanta families by providing quality and relevant parenting information," White says. "Every year we are honored by the awards Atlanta Parent receives at PPA. However, this year receiving the General Excellence award reinforces that what we do is meaningful and impacts families positively in our community."
Atlanta Parent Magazine is a free, local publication founded in 1983 with a circulation of 100,000 magazines distributed metro-wide, a number greater than most of the city's fee-based publications. Below are the highlights of the awards presented in each category.
Overall Award:
