BBA Welcomes Keynote Speaker David Ratcliffe, CEO of Southern Company, at Quarterly Luncheon on April 15

"The Energy Industry in Today's World"

David M. Ratcliffe, Chairman, President and CEO of Southern Company will be the keynote speaker at the Quarterly Luncheon hosted by the Buckhead Business Association on Thursday, April 15 at 103 West. Ratcliffe's speech will focus on ‘The Energy Industry in Today's World'.

"What a great opportunity for our members and guests to hear David Ratcliffe speak - one of the most respected business leaders in the South," remarked Heather Wright, president of the Buckhead Business Association. "The successful production and distribution of energy is a major contributor to our region's future growth."

Ratcliffe joined Southern Company as a biologist with Georgia Power in 1971 and has been in his current position since 2004. From 1999 to 2004 he was president and CEO of Georgia Power, Southern Company's largest subsidiary. He also served as president and CEO of Mississippi Power. Ratcliffe has held executive and management positions in the areas of finance, external affairs, fuel services, operations and planning, and research and environmental affairs.

The Quarterly Luncheon, sponsored by Gold Concepts Public Relations also features the BBA Public Safety Awards, honoring individuals with the Buckhead Police, Fire and Fulton County Sheriff's Departments who have been recommended by their superiors.
