Call For Nominations: The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta IMPACT Awards salute workplace volunteer programs

Nominations close Friday, June 18th

The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) has opened nominations for its 13th annual IMPACT Awards. The event is the only one of its kind to honor and recognize outstanding businesses that demonstrate leadership in anticipating and responding to the changing needs of the Atlanta community through strategic community engagement. This year, the nomination categories have been expanded to include companies of various sizes and recognize collaboration between businesses and nonprofits.

The 2010 IMPACT awards are divided into four categories:

  • The IMPACT Award (two sizes: small-to-medium businesses and large businesses),
  • The Partnership Award (two sub-categories: business-to-nonprofit and business-to-business),
  • The Skills-Based Volunteerism Award and
  • The Project Award.

All nominees will be recognized at the IMPACT Awards on September 23, 2010. Finalists will be announced in July; however, winners of the awards will not be revealed until the event in September.

"Once again, the CVC of Atlanta is delighted to honor Atlanta companies with the 2010 IMPACT Awards. We are excited to recognize the meaningful work of employee volunteer programs in various categories, including the brand-new skills-based award, which demonstrates the broad impact local corporations are making in our community," notes CVC of Atlanta president and The Home Depot Foundation’s Katy Elder. "The CVC is eager to recognize the tremendous impact that Atlanta’s companies have on the local community."

Last year’s IMPACT Award winners include AGL Resources, Bank of America, Bouje Publishing/Global ProjeX and The Coca-Cola Company.
