PGA TOUR Superstore Donates $49,000 to Support The First Tee

Superstore Will Match Fan Donations to Birdies for East Lake

PGA TOUR Superstore today announced $49,000 in grants to support chapters of The First Tee in six U.S. markets where the retail chain operates stores. The First Tee impacts the lives of young people by promoting character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

In partnership with The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, PGA TOUR Superstore is supporting The First Tee chapters serving more than 96,000 youth in Atlanta, Dallas, Myrtle Beach/Brunswick County, Naples, Phoenix, and Denver. The Foundation’s chairman, Arthur M. Blank, is also chairman of Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, owner and operator of PGA TOUR Superstore.

"We highly value our partnership with The First Tee because it not only continues to grow the game of golf, but also teaches important core values to our youth that help mold them into good citizens," said PGA TOUR Superstore President & CEO Dick Sullivan.

The grants will benefit the following chapters:

The First Tee of Atlanta

The First Tee of Brunswick County

The First Tee of Dallas

The First Tee at East Lake

The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch

The First Tee of Myrtle Beach

The First Tee of Naples/Collier

The First Tee of Phoenix

In addition to the grant awards, the Foundation and PGA TOUR Superstore also have pledged to match up to $5,000 in fan donations to the Birdies for East Lake program, an online fund-raiser for the East Lake Foundation where fans making donations can compete for prizes by predicting the number of birdies that will be recorded during next month’s TOUR Championship at East Lake. To participate, fans must register online at the Birdies for East Lake program web site.
