Nominate Outstanding Atlantans for the 9th Annual Turknett Leadership Character Awards

The Turknett Leadership Character Awards, a flagship program in Atlanta honoring leaders who exemplify the highest standards of character and integrity, are accepting nominations through Sunday, July 1, 2012 for the program, which will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Georgia Aquarium. 

The Leadership Character Awards were created by the Turknett Leadership Group (TLG).  Categories for the awards have been expanded in 2012 to include a small business leader and a lifetime achievement award winner. The categories are as follows:

I. Business or Public Sector

  • CEO/President/Partner, Large business – The senior executive or officer of an enterprise with more than 1000 employees
  • CEO/President/Partner, Small to Medium business – The senior executive or officer of an enterprise with fewer than 1000 employees
  • Executive/Manager – A leader or manager at any level in the organization who has direct reports

II.  Non-profit

Any level of individual who is on staff at a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status. Volunteers are eligible in the Inspiritor category.

III. Education

Faculty members and administrators of any public or private not-for-profit educational institution.

IV.  Inspiritor

Exceptionally inspiring people who choose leadership regardless of their title or position, e.g., volunteers, individual contributors, administrative assistants, programmers, technicians, sales or customer service representatives, etc.

The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced this summer. Nominate a leader for one of the four categories online via: Award winners will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges including:

  • Kent C. "Oz" Nelson, Retired Chairman & CEO of UPS
  • Conchita Robinson, President & CEO, C Robinson Associates, Inc.
  • Dr. Betty Siegel, President Emeritus & Endowed Chair of Leadership, Ethics, and Character, Kennesaw State University
  • Tom Crawford, Crawford Corporate Coaching, former Chairman/CEO of Crawford & Company and 2007 Turknett Leadership Character Award winner
