The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation to Host Event on the Rising Influence of Millennials

Event Will Be Available Via Live Webcast, September 13, 2012 (6 p.m. ET)

The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Speaker Series will host a program on September 13, 2012, on the rising influence of the Millennial generation.

The Speaker Series program, "Future Trends: Millennials in Ascent" will feature Young Invincibles Co-Founder Aaron Smith, Mobilize.org Program Director Amber Cruz, and The Futures Company Executive Chairman J. Walker Smith. CNN Anchor and Special Correspondent Soledad O’Brien will moderate the program.

Known by many names – Echo Boomers, Gen Y or Millennials – a new generation of Americans, 80 million strong, is exerting political, economic, education and cultural influence.

Millennials have become the objects of desire for companies, politicians and institutions seeking to form ties with a generation on the rise. In turn, the most diverse, tech-savvy generation in history is demanding social and environmental returns from corporations accustomed to looking only at financial ROI, seeking more transparency from government and creating new ways for citizens to participate in civic matters large and small.

Through its Pathways to Success education initiative, the Foundation has invested $16 million in efforts to expand education opportunities for Millennials and to help young adults make successful transitions from high school to college and career.

The Blank Family Foundation will produce a live webcast of the Speaker Series event beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Click here for information on the webcast (or go to http://blankfoundation.org/gen-y). No registration is needed to view the webcast.

Seating at the event is limited, and individuals interested in attending should contact JoAnn Ellis (JEllis@ambfo.com) to determine availability.
