Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation Awards $60,000 Grant for Fitness Equipment Donations
Applications Due May 15 for Organizations Serving Atlanta's Westside Neighborhoods
The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF) has awarded a $60,000 grant to Good Sports to donate fitness and sports equipment to organizations that remove barriers to youth participation across Georgia.
By leveraging relationships with equipment companies, Good Sports will double the value of the AFYF grant and provide at least $120,000 worth of fitness and sports equipment.
For the summer 2014 round of equipment donations, AFYF is inviting applications from groups serving youth in Atlanta’s Historic Westside Neighborhoods, including Vine City, English Avenue and Castleberry Hill.
Applications are due to Good Sports by May 15, 2014. Good Sports expects to deliver donations by August 1, 2014.
For more information on the application process, please contact Michael Wright, Good Sports Community Partnerships Manager, email@example.com.
A winter 2015 round of equipment donations will be open to organizations across the state of Georgia, across all sports. Applications will be due to Good Sports by December 1, 2014.
Through an ongoing partnership, Good Sports and AFYF provide equipment donations that increase opportunities for low-income youth to participate in regular physical activity. Good Sports is able to provide at least $2 in equipment for every $1 of grant funding. The current donations will expand opportunities for 6,200 youth.
Through the AFYF partnership, since 2010, Good Sports has leveraged $236,000 in grant funding to provide equipment donations worth $590,000. Donations have served 124 groups in 43 counties across Georgia, opening up new opportunities for 55,000 kids to be more physically active.
