Registration Open for Atlanta Falcons Moms Football Safety Clinics
The Atlanta Falcons are hosting a series of Moms Football Safety Clinics in communities across Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee, providing more than 800 mothers with information, training and hands-on experience in safe tackling techniques and proper equipment fitting. The purpose of the clinics is to provide helpful safety information to moms who have children who are considering or currently playing tackle football.
The spring clinics run through June 2016. Moms can sign up at the Atlanta Falcons Moms Football Safety Clinic website.
“We bring current and former NFL players together with moms from across Georgia for a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Chris Millman, Director of Community Relations for the Atlanta Falcons. “We are excited to team up with moms to reduce the use of performance-enhancing drugs, reduce injuries and increase safe participation.”
With a $95,000 grant to Kids & Pros to assist with the clinics, the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation is supporting the campaign for the third straight year. Founded by former Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry, Kids & Pros is a nonprofit organization that delivers character education, football instruction, and life skills to youth, as well as instruction and training for parents and youth coaches. Curry is a USA Football Heads Up Master Trainer and a member of the National Council on Youth Sports Safety.
