Metro Atlanta Chef Makes National Debut on Food Network's Cooks vs. Cons

The Art Institute of Atlanta is hosting a viewing party to cheer on Chef TJ Reddick

Anthony “TJ” Reddick will compete for the top spot on Food Network’s Cooks vs. Cons Wednesday, February 15. Reddick graduated with honors from The Art Institute of Atlanta in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Food & Beverage Management. Reddick will battle another chef on the show.  If Reddick can take down his opponent, he walks away with the cash prize.

The Art Institute of Atlanta is hosting a viewing party to cheer on the metro Atlanta chef during his network premier. Guests are invited to taste Reddick’s special “Three Bean Vegetarian Nachos” that he prepared on the show, along other Tex-Mex favorites like quesadillas, chips and salsa. The celebration begins in Ai Atlanta’s campus gallery at 8pm and is open to the public. The television show airs at 9pm Eastern.

Growing up in Chicago, Reddick said he always hoped one day he would become a top chef. He served in the Army National Guard for 5 years, which included spending 16 months in Iraq. Reddick now lives in Marietta with his wife, Nerissa and their four children.

“As a chef, it’s a good feeling to have validation in what you create,” said Reddick. “Being on the show, confirmed that I have the level of culinary artistry that is needed in the culinary industry.”

The Art Institute of Atlanta is located at 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, NE 100 Embassy Row, Atlanta, GA 30328
