Andrew Young Presents New Documentary at Buckhead Theater

Strong Medicine: The Secret Power of African Healing

Strong Medicine:  The Secret Power of African Healing

As much as 85% percent of the population of Africa relies on traditional healing methods for all healthcare needs – in part because  Western medicine is either unavailable or cost prohibitive – and have done so for 6000 years.  Often, these techniques are dismissed by outsiders as voodoo, witch doctors and other stereotypes. Yet, after many trips to the continent and over 15 years of dedicated research on the subject, Ambassador Andrew Young has concluded that these secret healing techniques make for strong medicine.

Traditional healers, sometimes known as “Medicine Men,” have handed down those secrets through the centuries, one to the next. This unique form of alternative medicine is now being studied scientifically – with astounding results.  Herbal extracts are proving effective in the successful treating such conditions as diabetes, high blood pressure, and even AIDS and Ebola.

“I am convinced through my many trips to African villages and urban centers that age-old secrets might actually surpass modern medicine in some cases,” said Andrew J. Young.  “Science and Morehouse School of Medicine together are proving this to be true.”

While alternative medicine is taking the U.S. by storm, it’s the trusted methods of ancient healing that include the mind, body, spirit and riches of the earth that keep people well throughout Africa, where access to Western medicine is extremely limited. Join us for Andrew Young Presents, “Strong Medicine: The Secret Power of African Healing,” debuting Tuesday, April 25 at the Buckhead Theater at 6:30 PM.  Tickets are available at EventBrite and seating is limited.
