Atlanta Daybook Nonprofit Spotlight | Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta

The Mission of the Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta is to maximize the impact of pro bono engagement by connecting a network of volunteer attorneys with nonprofits in need of free business legal services.

Serving 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that serve low-income or disadvantaged individuals and are unable to pay for legal services, the Pro Bono Partnership’s volunteer network, assists their nonprofit clients to be stronger and better able to serve the underserved and disadvantaged. Their clients are working to improve the lives of the homeless, domestic violence survivors, at-risk youth, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and other groups in need.

How The Partnership Works
They match eligible organizations with volunteer attorneys from the leading corporations and law firms in Atlanta. Pro Bono Partnership staff screens the nonprofits and identifies their legal needs, then matches eligible clients with attorneys who have the appropriate expertise.

Their volunteer attorneys assist nonprofits with business legal matters in areas including:

  • Corporate Governance
  • Contracts and Leases
  • Employment
  • Trademarks & Copyrights
  • Tax Compliance

Since their launch in late 2005, Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta has assisted over 800 nonprofit organizations with over 5,000 different legal matters. Over 3,000 attorneys have volunteered their services to Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta clients. In 2016 alone, the direct legal services provided to nonprofit organizations by our volunteer attorneys were valued at over $4.6 million.
