TEDxPeachtree Teams Up with Hands on Atlanta

Partnership Mobilizes TEDxPeachtree 2017 Participants to Community Action

TEDxPeachtree, one of the southeast’s premier TEDx events, is pleased to announce a community partnership with Hands on Atlanta wherein TEDxPeachtree 2017 conference attendees can register for specific volunteer projects that will take place during the 27th annual Hands on Atlanta Day to be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

“We are excited to partner with TEDxPeachtree and to provide their conference attendees opportunities to make a community impact” said Jay Cranman, president and CEO of Hands on Atlanta. “We are especially proud to support an all-volunteer organization that continues to shine a light on all the great work being done in the metro Atlanta area for the last nine years,” he added.

The 27th Annual Hands on Atlanta will be held on Saturday, October 7 and is poised to mobilize thousands of volunteers to serve metro Atlanta communities, schools and nonprofits. Volunteer projects are focused on primary community needs including: education and youth development, literacy, child hunger, and parental engagement. The focus of community projects available to TEDxPeachtree 2017 attendees aligns with select topics that will be addressed by TEDxPeachtree 2017 speakers including exposure to STEM education and underserved students; successful urban agriculture and healthy eating; and the preservation of local greenspace.

“The partnership with Hands on Atlanta fulfills our mission of providing an ideas platform that can propel communities to action,” said Jacqui Chew, entrepreneur and TEDxPeachtree organizer. “Each year, TEDxPeachtree attendees exit the conference invigorated but with no outlet to channel their energy. This partnership enables them to take action and volunteer for curated community projects that take place the day after our conference,” she added.
