Chai & Just Chat Dec. 8 Forum in Johns Creek to Feature Fulton County DA Paul Howard, Jr.

Dr. Nazeera Dawood To Moderate Nine-Member Panel Addressing Metro ATL Multicultural Crime

अपराध. குற்றம். جرم  犯罪. অপরাধ.

Crime in any language, culture, or society knows no boundaries.

That’s the focus of this Saturday’s Dec. 8 installment of ‘Chai & Just Chat: All That Glitters is Gold. Combatting Thefts & Burglaries In Our Communities.’

Hosted and moderated by Dr. Nazeera Dawood of Johns Creek, the two-hour forum, opening at 3:30 p.m. with complimentary appetizers and refreshments provided by Swagat Indian Cuisine at Johns Creek Event Center, 11455 Lakefield Drive, Johns Creek, 30097, is free and open to the public.

Dr. Dawood will engage a panel of nine local and statewide leaders in Georgia’s criminal justice, law enforcement, community improvement, and crime prevention sectors for an open-forum round table discussion addressing residential crime rates and patterns throughout metro Atlanta.

More specifically: a rise in home burglaries against Indian and Asian populations who are targeted by thieves for their heirloom ritual gold and jewelry.

Featured panelists include:

  • Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, Jr.
  • Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney
  • Omotayo Alli; Chief Administration Officer, Fulton County Juvenile Court
  • Hashim Ahmedani; Bartow County Sheriff’s Deputy
  • Urmil Tracy Marshall; Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Advisory Task Force, Region 3; Opioid Task Force
  • Trey Holladay, President, Johns Creek Community Association
  • Carl Route Jr.; Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta
  • Nandita Godbole; author and residential and business theft observer
  • Jason Palmer;  security expert, Phoenix Security Systems

The forum will also focus on cyber crimes and how law enforcement, the justice system, neighborhood associations, community groups, and social programs are working in coordination with one another and vulnerable populations leading into the holiday season.
