American Lung Association Power of Breath Women's Fashion Luncheon

Why Women?

  • Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer of women and has one od the lowest five-year suravival rates of all cancer types, at 17.7%. The rate of new lung cancer cases in women has increased 94% over the last 39 years.
  • 30% of women diagnosed with lung cancer never smoked.
  • More than half of the 33 million Americans living with chronic lung disease are women.
  • Not only are women disproportionately affected by lung disease, but they also influence more than 80% of the healthcare decisions for their families. By educating women, we will expand our impact and increase the likelihood that women will not only make healthy decisions for themselves, but also for their families.
