Honorary Chairs Dan Cathy and Liz Blake welcome guests to Atlanta Habitat's Gala

Saturday, April 13

Dan Cathy and Liz Blake, honorary chairs of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity’s “Welcome to Our Neighborhood Gala,” will join special guests at the second annual fundraising event at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 13, Flourish Atlanta.

The gala is presented by sponsors Chick-fil-A and The Home Depot Foundation. The interactive, block-party themed evening will feature acapella singers and classic Motown-styled performances before guests enter the stunning Flourish ballroom for dinner, a mission moment from HGTV’s Chip Wade, and much more. The block-party will conclude with an after-party complete with a DJ and dancing.

“Atlanta Habitat continues to have a transformative impact on the people and communities across our city by providing the resources and tools needed to spark revitalization. I am humbled to take part in this event and optimistic about the positive impact we can collectively have across Atlanta through our participation,” says Cathy.

Event hosts Angela and John Laughter, senior vice president at Delta Air Lines, will lead the celebration of Atlanta Habitat’s record-breaking success of helping more families each year to afford a decent, safe place to live and improving neighborhood blocks across Atlanta.

“From the westside to the eastside, Atlanta Habitat is doing fantastic work to support families in an empowering, sustainable way that will span generations. I’m deeply honored to help Atlanta Habitat impact the lives of more families through this event,” says Blake.

Other sponsors for the evening include Liz and Frank Blake and Delta Air Lines.

“Our gala will be another unforgettable experience,” says Lisa Y. Gordon, Atlanta Habitat president, and CEO. “Atlanta Habitat is doing its part to tackle Atlanta’s housing insecurity challenges and to create vibrant, healthy neighborhoods for everyone. Thanks to our generous sponsors and their dedication to Atlanta families, this event promises to turbocharge our mission. We remain grateful and humbled by their support.”

Atlanta Habitat’s build-the-block strategy helps low-wage earning families to achieve first-time homeownership, seniors and military veterans to fix up their homes, families to reach education and entrepreneurial goals, and neighborhoods to thrive. Atlanta’s nonprofit affordable housing leader is on target to help more than 160 new families in 2019.  For the past four years, Atlanta Habitat has made an annual $6 million economic investment in Atlanta’s affordable housing.
